Volunteer Requirements

1. Volunteers should have a genuine passion for the organization's mission and a strong commitment to promoting equitable wellness and anti-racist healing for Black women and young girls.

2. Volunteers should align with the organization's values, including a commitment to addressing historical, systemic, and generational racism and trauma, promoting decolonized healing practices, and advocating for autonomy and freedom from oppressive healthcare services and gender and power-based violence.

3. Volunteers should demonstrate respect for diversity and inclusivity, acknowledging the intersectional experiences of Black women and young girls and working towards creating an inclusive and supportive environment.

4. Volunteers should be open to learning and expanding their knowledge about the barriers faced by Black women and young girls in accessing equitable healthcare and wellness services. This includes understanding the impact of historical and systemic factors on health disparities.

5. Volunteers should possess effective communication skills to engage with diverse individuals and communities, as well as to collaborate with other volunteers, staff, and community partners.

6. Volunteers should be reliable, committed, and punctual, understanding the importance of their role in supporting the organization's work and the communities it serves.

7. Volunteers may come across sensitive information while working with the organization. It is important for them to respect and maintain the confidentiality and privacy of individuals they encounter during their volunteer activities.

8. Volunteers should be willing to adapt to changing circumstances and be flexible in their roles and responsibilities as needed by the organization.

9. Depending on the specific volunteer positions available, volunteers may be required to have certain skills or experience. This can include skills such as event planning, fundraising, counseling, advocacy, research, or program development. However, it's important to note that not all positions require prior experience, and the organization may provide training and support to volunteers.

10. In some cases, especially when working with vulnerable populations, volunteers may be required to undergo background checks as part of the organization's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of those they serve.

Being 18 or older

Attending the volunteer training

Reading & Signing Documents for volunteer agreement
